How many hours will my child receive therapy?
Therapy hours are determined based on the individual needs of the child and the recommendations outlined in their treatment plan.
The specifics will be discussed during the intake and planning process. We do not have a minimum hour requirement.
We provide a clinical recommendation that is tailored to your child and family.

What is the role of the BCBA on their therapy team?
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) leads the therapy team and actively participates in the therapy sessions. At Thrive, the BCBA also provides direct therapy hours to your child, connects with parents on an ongoing basis, and collaborates with key adults in the child’s life. The BCBA is responsible for creating and maintaining Behavior Support Plans, training interventionists, supervising therapy sessions, and monitoring data to ensure progress. They work closely with families to set meaningful goals and adapt interventions as needed.

What is your level of training in the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)?
Thrive has 2 ESDM certified trainers on staff, and multiple ESDM certified therapists on staff. The ESDM service model is the foundation for our approach to therapy at Thrive and all staff members receive specific training to ensure high standards in delivering this evidence-based approach.

What ages does Thrive serve?
Thrive provides services to individuals across a broad age range, focusing on early intervention and ongoing developmental support.
We serve clients who range from birth to 21 years old.

Do you only provide therapy for individuals with an autism diagnosis?
While Thrive specializes in autism, autism, we also support neurodiverse individuals with developmental and/or behavioral challenges.
An autism diagnosis is not required to receive services with Thrive.

How are parents involved in therapy?
Parent involvement is critical to our approach. Thrive includes parents in team meetings, direct coaching, and training to help families generalize teaching strategies into everyday routines. Families are encouraged to participate in, and collaborate with the therapy team so we can, together, provide services that match your family values and expectations.

How is Thrive neuro-affirming?
Thrive emphasizes respectful, individualized care that honors each client's unique strengths and needs. Interventions are designed to support developmental goals without compromising the child’s self-identity. Staff members are trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, trauma informed care, and assent-based procedures.

I've heard negative things about ABA. How is Thrive different?
Thrive takes a collaborative, family-centered approach, teaching occurs in mutually enjoyable relationships and natural play or daily routines, and incorporates interdisciplinary expertise. In contrast to some programming, deep knowledge of child and human development is the guide for all Thrive programming.
Interventions focus on functional and meaningful outcomes, with the latest research guiding our interventions in an assent-based, value-based approach to therapy that works on goals identified by individuals and/or their family.

Does Thrive support in schools or the community?
Yes, Thrive provides services in schools and community settings when appropriate, ensuring interventions align with the client’s natural environments.

What funding sources does Thrive accept?
Thrive works with various funding sources, including private pay, Kaiser, Community Centered Board funding, and state programs.
Families are encouraged to discuss specific funding questions during the intake process.
We do not accept Medicaid at this time.

How many locations does Thrive have?
We currently have a Denver clinic located in the RINO district in North Denver and an Aspen location in the Roaring Fork Valley.
